DMD Conference committee will be accepting original papers that demonstrate new technologies and applications in the field of medical device design. Submissions from academic and industry researchers, clinicians and practitioners is encouraged.

All accepted papers are required to be presented in the Scientific Poster Session during the 2026 DMD Conference on April 21 and will be published in the 2026 Proceedings of the Design of Medical Devices Conference in the ASME Digital Collection. Top papers describing medical device designs with a potential for commercialization, will be invited for participation in the Five-Minute Pitch Competition. A limited number of papers will be invited to be presented during our exciting podium session.

Submission Guidelines

Papers should be no less than two pages and no more than six pages including references.

The use of AI to generate text, tables, or figures is not allowed.

• Dec. 1, 2025: Draft Papers Due by 11:59 pm CST
• Jan. 5 2026: Reviews completed and authors will be notified
• Mar. 2, 2026: Final Paper & ASME Copyright Forms Due by 11:59 pm CDT
